The following rules govern all activities and competitions organized by the Shooting Association of Maldives.
All participants must be registered members of SAM.
Participation in competitions requires a valid membership.
Members must carry their membership card at all events.
Decisions made by officials and judges are final.
All firearms must be unloaded when not on the firing line.
Always treat a firearm as if it is loaded.
Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
Mandatory use of ear and eye protection on the range.
Alcohol or substance use is strictly prohibited on the range.
Competitors must report to the range at least 30 minutes before the start.
Equipment must comply with the specifications for each discipline.
Any protests must be lodged within 15 minutes of the incident.
Use of unauthorized equipment may result in disqualification.
Competitors must follow the instructions of range officers at all times.
Junior members (under 18) must always be accompanied by a guardian or certified coach.
Guardians are responsible for their junior's conduct on the range.
Separate junior categories are available in all competitions.
Violations of these rules may result in a warning, suspension, or expulsion.
Disciplinary cases are handled by the SAM Disciplinary Committee.
Members have the right to appeal any disciplinary decision within 14 days.
