The Maldives national shooting team recently completed a high-stakes campaign at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2026, held from February 1st to February 10th. Competing at the prestigious Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi, India, the Maldivian delegation joined top-tier athletes from across the continent for ten days of intensive competition organized by the Asian Shooting Confederation.

The Maldives was represented by a dedicated 22-member delegation, showcasing a balanced mix of seasoned talent and emerging sharpshooters. The squad was comprised of:

Precision and Discipline: The Athletes
The athlete roster was strategically split between Rifle and Pistol disciplines, demonstrating the growing depth of the sport in the Maldives:

Rifle Shooters (07 Total): A disciplined group consisting of 3 female and 4 male athletes.

Pistol Shooters (09 Total): The largest segment of the team, featuring 3 female and 6 male athletes.

The participation in such a high-caliber event underscores the Maldives' commitment to developing its presence in international shooting sports. Facing off against Asia’s elite in New Delhi provided the team with invaluable experience and a platform to test their precision under the highest levels of pressure.
